Measure distance on a map

For a quick distance measure on the map make the following:
. turn on Map ruler toolbar button,
. click the mouse left button on the requested start measuring position,
. drag it over the screen/map on the second requested position,
. click the mouse left button on the requested end measuring position.
. voila – your distance and bearing are visible on the black dotted line.
