Profiles

How to create, delete and edit profiles?

Profiles enable you to save different configuration settings, for use with different sites, aircraft or types of flights. For example, one profile for competition flying and the other one for XC flights.

When you first run Oudie, a default profile is created from the template chosen (XC or RACE). Configuration changes are then stored to this profile.

Then comes the day when you start to flying competitions. To avoid entering the polar, header and changing Navboxes each time you fly competitions instead of cross country, you can create a new profile.

Find this option via: Menu > Settings > Next > Next > Next > Misc.

Go to Manage profiles and choose either:

  • copy current profile (which makes an exact copy of current settings) or
  • create a new profile (which creates a copy of the default settings).

Then give the new profile a name, for instance “RACE”, “XC” or “Hike and fly “

Next time you start Oudie you will have 10 seconds to choose from your saved profiles. If you do nothing the last used profile is loaded.

After loading a profile for the first time, you will want to set it up according to your preferences before use, for example:

  • Links to Terrain, Airspace and Waypoint files:

Find this option via:  Menu > Settings > Next > Files.

  • Pilot name and Glider type settings:

Find this option via:  Menu > Settings > Next > Next > Log.

  • Symbols for Map1:

Find this option via:  Menu > Settings > Symbols.

  • Symbols for Map2:

Find this option via:  Menu > Settings > Symbols.

  • Navboxes for Map 1 (or Map 2, depending upon which Map box you are currently in):

Find this option via:  Menu > Settings > Navboxes.
